Male - Tachytes crassus
In the second image you can clearly see the erect hairs on the ventral of his hind femur. (north-eastern range)
Otherwise, he looks very much like her and please note the dark eyes, clear wings, red legs, etc.: ♀ Wow, they seem to like the same plant. (Swamp Milkweed, Asclepias incarnata) Nice shots!
