My guess...
is perhaps a glowworm beetle, family Phengodidae:
This is a guess based on superficial similarities. I hope someone who knows beetles will confirm or correct.

Update: Brad confirmed my guess before I even posted it- and he does know his beetles.

On second thought...
And on second thought, this is most likely an adult female instead of a larva. Larvae seem to be rarely encountered, and at this size it is most likely an adult female.
