Larva - Lapara bombycoides

Larva - Lapara bombycoides
Voluntown, New London County, Connecticut, USA
September 20, 2014
Observed in area dominated by Eastern white pine (Pinus strobus) and dry sandplain vegetation- adjacent to Atlantic white cedar (Chamaecyparis thyoides) wetland.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Probably L. bombycoides and not L. coniferarum based on location and association with white pine. Had pitch pine been reported at this location I would be less sure about my determination without seeing a lateral or central view of this specimen.

maybe Lapara
