taxonomy
Are all of the species that are currently in Pelenomus now in Rhinoncus? I have several species submitted earlier that I placed in Pelenomus. There does seem to be a lot of confusion in this group of weevils.

longulus, pyrrhopus, triangularis are all Rhinoncus
...among those you've posted; beware of Rhinoncus sulcicollis Boheman 1845 -- an East Asian sp. that has nothing to do with the all-American Pelenomus sulcicollis (Fåhraeus 1843)

This may be one to pass on to one of the experts. According to what literature I have pericarpius does not occur near Kansas. I have specimens dating back to 1973 so would have thought that O'Brien and Wibmer 1982 would have had my data. Maybe make the ID tentative until determined to be different.
