name changes
I was wondering if you have a database that a person can reference concerning the name changes? For example O'Brien and Wibmer 1982 have this species as sulcipennis. Where does one go to get the latest changes?

no single source, alas; keeping up with nomenclature is hard
i often check names against what seems to be the best expert-maintained, constantly updates online sources that apply the most rigorous nomenclatural standards, such as Taxapad(1) (covers beetles in a very patchy manner) or Fauna Europaea(2).
the latter doesn't include taxa outside Europe but one always can trust it for gender grammar of the epithets -- so whenever i come across inconsistent gender endings i just search F.E. for genera that have the same last element (say, -soma) and see what gender is used there (-soma requires neuter).

among major printed works, the latest Canada checklist(3) is very good, too -- check your mail
