Winter Crane fly? - Trichocera
Reston, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA

Size: 7-10mm
observed hovering over and on hellebore leaves. An unusually warm (58 F) Feb day. Saw 3 individuals in flight 12-18 inches above ground level, scattering to hide in foliage when approached. Is this likely to be some type of Trichoceridae?
