Streptopalpia minusculalis

Streptopalpia minusculalis
St. Lucie County, Florida, USA
April 17, 2007
"All of the photographs at BugGuide and MPG currently shown under 5560.1 - Salobrena vacuana should be moved to 5565 - Streptopalpia minusculalis (after photos currently shown at 5565 are moved to 5574 - Heliades mulleolella).

Jim Hayden, Curator of Lepidoptera at the Florida Collection of Arthropods, has compared our photos with that of the type specimen of S. minusculalis (in the collection at the Berlin Museum). The porrect (stretched our forward) palpi, downturned at the apex, and the .pm line positioned almost at the outer margin, are diagnostic characters.
