Geometrid caterpillar - Eupithecia subfuscata

Geometrid caterpillar - Eupithecia subfuscata
Mer Bleue , Ottawa-Carleton, Ontario, Canada
September 11, 2014
This caterpillar was on a goldenrod plant on the edge of a forested area. I cannot make up my mind whether it is a Pleuroprucha insulsaria or Eupithecia miserulata, or perhaps neither. Thanks for any help.

We have some images similar to yours posted from Alberta and Saskatchewan that are way out of the range for Pleuroprucha and they seem to compare favorably with Eupithecia subfuscata so we moved them there based on the similarity to images on MPG

Thank you
Now that you've pointed out the subtleties I see where the difference lies. This is great, thank you, Would not have got the ID on my own.

We would say
Pleuroprucha insulsaria.
That looks very good

Thank you
For such a quick response. I am happy to have an ID for this little caterpillar.
