Mite with something attached - Neoseiulus

Mite with something attached - Neoseiulus
Ascension Parish, Louisiana, USA
Size: <1mm
I'd like to know what the object attached to the leg of this mite is. It seems like the attachment point is too precisely formed to be a random piece of trash. I followed this mite for quite a while and the piece remained firmly attached.

Thanks in advance

Lasioseius sp. --det. D. Walter
Note: it seems that most, if not all, Lasioseius spp. are now treated in Neoseiulus --will inquire. =v=
