Nefusa ambigua on viola - Nefusa ambigua

Nefusa ambigua on viola - Nefusa ambigua
Fredericton, York County, New Brunswick, Canada
July 19, 2001
A single leaf of a lone white violet was affected. Location: my back yard under a large white pine and beside a spruce hedge. I compared these photos to those on the Nefusa ambigua page. Looks like this is the first for the entire northeast!

Moved from Unidentified Leaf Mines.
Dave Smith and I just wrote a note on this species, which will be published in the next few months. Nefusa ambigua is recorded from Quebec and Nova Scotia, but this appears to be the first record for New Brunswick.
