Elaphropus anceps (yellowish immature color)
based on my microscopic examination of six conspecific specimens bearing same collection event (but designated Jun-Sep 2013) which are deposited in the P.W. Messer collection. Thanks so much Adam.

While E. dolosus was hoped for, I was happy that five of the six specimens provided my first immature states of E. anceps. One specimen was mature with the typical darker brown colored pattern of E. anceps. Very instructive!

I've been desperately searching for "Elaphropus dolosus"
to add to my study collection. Here the Illinois location, rather uniform yellow-brown color, and one prominent stria on elytron favors that idea. Adam, any chance you saved this specimen and are able to pass it on for serious examination? Thanks either way!
