rove beetle - Falagria sulcata

rove beetle - Falagria sulcata
Wayland, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
April 19, 2007
Size: ~2.5-3mm

Wow!!!
Another species level identification of an Aleocharin. Great work Don, I know these aren't your favorites.

Fortunately
they were Rick Hoebeke's favorites, and he produced a very nice revision and identified our specimens of this easy-to-recognize group. Only about 4 of the 100 or so Aleocharine genera are so lucky.

Falagria sulcata
Now you have the two species that are known from NH.

happy to confirm Dons ID!
:-)

Falagria sp.
Don, I suspect you're right. It looks identical to one that Boris already identified for me.

Aleocharinae: Falagria sp.
My educated guess is Falagria (grooved pronotum plus general appearance). Perhaps Boris will confirm/change the id.
