Rhyncolus sp1 - Rhyncolus macrops

Rhyncolus sp1 - Rhyncolus macrops
Lantzville, Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
March 13, 2015
Size: 3 mm
I found several of these under bark of a fallen Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii). Almost all looked like this one. Reddy brown in colour and smaller (3mm) vs darker brown and 3.5mm for Rhynocolus sp2.
See Sp2 here and them side by side
Of the 6 species in BC only Rhyncolus brunneus and Rh. macrops seem to have a long enough rostrum to consider.
Perhaps it is just diversity within one species or male female?
