hairy beetle - Euphoria inda
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
April 22, 2007
Size: ~10+mm
I just went outside to see if there were any new bugs around and this thing appeared. At first I thought it was a very clumsy bee when it was flying around the violets but then when it landed in the grass I saw it wasn't a bee. I coaxed it onto a dead leaf and managed to get a few photos before it flew off, flying over some other flowers (out of my reach with the camera, of course!) and then it left the yard. It just amazes me that there are so many bugs just in the yard that I have never seen before.
