Hodges #3446 - Corticivora chica? - Cydia marita

Hodges #3446 - Corticivora chica? - Cydia marita
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
March 9, 2015
Size: Length ~7mm
At outdoor light. I think this might be a Rhyacionia rigidana and wonder whether I can receive support for the ID. Unfortunately I could not get a lateral shot because the the moth was resting in a groove.
Edit: I reconsider: the apical region does not look right for Rhyacionia and #3446 Corticivora is a much better fit; going by distribution, #3446.1 C. chica would be the more likely possibility.

This is not Corticivora
Moved from Corticivora. Note the ocellus. Corticivora does not have an ocellus.

Thanks, Kyhl!
I learned something - I suppose you refer to the tiny spot visible over the right eye. Or is its something else?? Never paid attention to anything like that! Happy holidays!

The ocellus is the group of tiny black streaks near the tornus
Happy holidays to you too!

Now I'm confused
Thank you, Kyhl, for clearing this up - sort of. But: How can stripes be ocelli or an ocellus when ocellus refers to an eye or something related. I had checked and found this. That's why I referred to the tiny black spot over the moth's right eye.

Double meaning
The ocellus can also refer to the small, "rudimentary" eyes on a moth's head, but can also refer to "the ovoid region anterior to the tornus that features a few dark dots or dashes on a lighter central field"(1). It is also known as the ocelloid patch.

Now it makes sense.
Thank you for your patience with me.
