What kind of beetle is this? Flying all over my yard. - Megacopta cribraria

Size: 1/2"
Numerous specimens flying around my backyard. I have an above ground pool and I live next to a pond inside the city limits. Never seen them before and i have lived here for 14 years.

Yup. Invasive species. Moved
Yup. Megacopta cribraria. Non-native species. Moved in from the Carolinas and have been steadily working their way south. Came across a good number of them in Valdosta two years back. Now I'm waiting for them to show up in Volusia county, Florida. Heh. Check this out for more detail: http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/field/bugs/bean_plataspid.htm
