In freshwater stream in 'winter'; parts of stream frozen and some snow on ground. Water would have been less than 5 degrees Celcius.

Ontario only has 4 species, with all but a close species pair theoretically distinguishable with a good view of of the first pleopods of the male (visible from the outside under the telson)
