Jumping Spider - Eris floridana - female

Jumping Spider - Eris floridana - Female
Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
February 29, 2004
You can't tell from the photos, but I've always been a bit archnaphobic and this spider almost gave me a heart attack when it actually jumped onto my camera lens. YIKES. I was so proud of myself for not throwing my camera! This spider was very aggressive. The most aggressive I've ever photographed.

Good for you
Glad to see you kept your cool. I've had them do that to me as well. Sometimes I think they may see their reflection in the lens and mistake it for another spider.
