Looks like we see the silvery patches of

John and Jane, you are correct and they are both males!
:)

NOTE: The "episternal sulcus" is just barely visible and in partial shadow, but you can still see the angled notch, adjacent to the shiny silvered area.

 
I wasn't entirely sure I was seeing those patches...
Hence its journey to subfamily. :)

I agree about the silvery patches. What about the tiny patch of red just before the swelling of the abdomen? Is that of any significance?
