Spider in its own sleeping bag? - Cheiracanthium mildei

Spider in its own sleeping bag? - Cheiracanthium mildei
Oakland, Alameda County, California, USA
March 26, 2015
Size: 0.5 inch
We call this the "sleeping bag spider" -- has been around for three days, in the corner between wall and ceiling, and each night spun a little cocoon around itself.

All we are wondering -- is it laying eggs? It DOES look like there are no eggs in the silky husks of the "sleeping bags."

Moved
Moved from ID Request. I'm not sure it's molting yet. It is hiding in a protective retreat. A lot of spider make little houses that they hide in. This one is not making eggs yet, but that might be the next step.

Can you please crop your image so that everyone can see the spider more closely? Only you & editors can see the larger version.

most likely

It appears to be molting (shedding) its exoskeleton. Spiders do this due to growth, once mature they will not molt anymore. These are common in homes.
