. Moved on advice of Michael Sabourin. The shape of the basal margin of the white portion of the forewing is a reliable character separating
funerea
and
capreana
. Michael believes that none of the additional similar species in this mostly boreal group (clade?) within
Apotomis
occur in Wisconsin.
