Callibaetis pictus
Hi Cody,

I believe this female imago to be Callibaetis pictus.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

.
Do we just move to the highest known now? Seems like things get lost at those levels and never get any further.

If you really want an ID...
...then this is the place for your image. Roger Rohrbeck, our mayfly expert, will see it here--and he's usually quite prompt with his IDs.

However, it's your image, so you're free to move it back to ID Request if you like. :)

I trust you
I've just had quite a few images get floated down to family levels and just seem to get lost.

It depends on the taxon.
Mayflies generally get ID'd within a day (often within hours). Other critters may have to wait weeks or even months for an expert to turn up.

One thing is certain, though: If you leave the pics in ID Request, then within days they will be buried pages deep and virtually no one will be looking at them.

If you haven't already seen it, you may want to check out the "Where Do I Post It?" article.
