Aphid? - Indiopsocus coquilletti - male

Aphid? - Indiopsocus coquilletti - Male
Agoura Hills, Los Angeles County, California, USA
April 3, 2015
Rather large for an aphid, but I don't think it is a barklouse so it must just be a big aphid.

Swept from California buckwheat.

Mockford confirms...
this is the male of Indiopsocus coquilletti. He wrote a beautiful paper about this species... Edward L. Mockford,1985, "Forms, distribution, and relationships of "Psocus" coquilletti Banks", The Southwestern Naturalist 30(1):13-22.

I will not need a specimen.

Thanks!
That is quite some dimorphism. I don't know much about barklice I suppose.

Wow! Again....
This one sure looks like the male of Indiopsocus coquilletti! I'm green with jealousy. I have emailed Dr. Mockford for confirmation.
