Pyraustinae? - Nacoleia charesalis

Pyraustinae? - Nacoleia charesalis
Sand Key Park, Florida, USA
February 12, 2015
No clue, maybe Spilomini? Has some pretty distinct hairs on its "shoulders".

Moved from Obscure Psara.

Moved from Spilomelini.

James, please be careful and deliberate when moving your images
This is not Psara obscuralis.

I and others who collected here spent what felt like several painstaking hours on the ID of this moth. This may have been the most time I've ever spent on an ID before. So we were VERY sure when deciding what this moth was.

Nonetheless your suggestion is better and was not in our consideration, apparently?

Moved from Pyraustinae.

Moved from Tessellate Dart.

I am sorry for the terrible unintentional move! I think you might be right about Spilomini. Sorry I could not find one that I thought matched the lines of yours.

No problem!
I had the same issue when trying to find a match...or rather, not finding a match.

Moved from ID Request.

I don't think you meant to move this here
Tagging gone wrong?

Definitely - took me a while to get it fixed! Sorry.
