Size: 7-8mm
These flies were found on the leaf of a buttercup, growing in shallow water, in a wetland/prairie remnant. They were also seen on the flowers. Thanks for your ID!

Compare - the wing veination is identical, even though this isn't the stereotypical Orthonevra presentation. Nice find!

No problem! Many Orthonevra
No problem! Many Orthonevra are easy to identify because of their patterned eyes and stereotypical wing veination, but some (like yours) are much more subtle. As you can tell, we don't see too many of them here, unlike some other more common genera!
