Bugged by exposure problems (Ly*gus?) - Plagiognathus verticalis

Bugged by exposure problems (Ly*gus?) - Plagiognathus verticalis
Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Gardens, Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
April 22, 2007
Three shots of the same bug, hopefully same individual. Note shift in color. Camera was acting up, sometimes rendering foliage as a brilliant blue. (Blame it on the poppies in those shots.) Bug shown here on composite.

...

It looks like Plagiognathus verticalis...
One of its feature is narrow pale lines on the wings, and this bug is very common in California.

^^

Thanks, WonGun
If an editor sees this, we need a new species page.

Why don't you ask a new guide page?
It's the simple way. ^^

Here's why don't I ask...
It's a long and somewhat bitter story, abbreviated here. Basically, I used to ask through the forum and was ignored while others got pages. So eventually, I gave up and now do it this way.

I'm sorry...
Then, it's better to wait for someone.

Not your fault or problem
Thanks for your concern and interest. You've been a major help to me.

Moved
Moved from Plant Bugs.

It looks like a Plagiognatus species...
^^

Looks to me
like a Myrid, the lygaeids I've seen seem to be more elongate

Lygus different from Lygaeids.
I know, it is confusing, but "Lygus" is a genus of mirids. Not sure that is what this image is of, however. Definitely a mirid of some kind, though.

Thanks, Eric
I'll look around more.

Guess
Guess I should research more before opening my mouth... sorry for doubting you Ron :-)

No problem, Will
Eric and I have been through lots of these together, but this one is a bit of a puzzler, not the typical monochrome mirid.
