observed in morning near porch light. Looks like a close match to me, but confirmation would be appreciated

I would be more tempted to call this the closely related Clover Looper - Hodges#8738 (Caenurgina crassiuscula)
My reasons being the dark bands on your moth meeting (or almost meeting) near the inner margin and the more basal (upper) band touching the inner margin itself. These are the main distinguishing features that separate the Clover and Forage Loopers.
But, as with many moths, they are not always reliable separated. But this ID is very likely correct.
