Brochymena carolinensis vs. punctata

Hi all,

To separate these two, the 1982 McPherson key has you look at whether the head is roundly truncate or triangular past the subapical teeth of the juga and whether there are conspicuous white spots on the hemelytra/ coria. Looking at pictures and museum specimens, for the life of me I am having a tough time making a call about either of these features for our miscellaneous Brochymena spp. unit tray at UMD. Are there any other things I can look for to help separate these, or a better way to describe these features?

Regards,
Chris
