Mason Bee With Green Neck & Long Tongue - Lithurgopsis - male

Mason Bee With Green Neck & Long Tongue - Lithurgopsis - Male
Tonopah Desert, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
April 4, 2015
Size: 10mm
This bee is in a Prickly Pear Cactus, Opuntia Engelmannii. His neck appears to be green and I don't think that it is a camera error. I have seen some yellow colored necks, in some other peoples images of Lithurgopsis sp. and I don't know if it is a character of any one species. After sipping some nectar, we can see his very long tongue! (approx. 4mm)
Please confirm, move or frass these images. Thanks for your help!
