Nine-spot ID
I checked out the characters for identifying a Nine-spotted recently. Besides the obvious (usually with 9 elytral spots) Nine-spots should have a thin dark line along the suture between the elytra, a pale anterior margin on the pronotum, and a white line between the eyes. If you can't count all of the spots (or possibly have an aberrant individual), these are some extra features to look for.

Thanks Robin. Now I'm going
Thanks Robin. Now I'm going to scour my files for a nine spotted ladybird. :)
