strange-looking hymenopteran? - Ophion

strange-looking hymenopteran? - Ophion
Albion, Calhoun County, Michigan, USA
April 17, 2015
I was walking around taking pictures in the near dark (8:21 Eastern). A few minutes before there had been a brown lacewing on this spot. But later, looking at the picture, I realized this was no lacewing. The venation is pretty clear at least on the forewing. Can someone tell me what this really is?

Thanks in advance.

Ophion sp.
Straightened r-rs vein and presence of ramellus (not very long in this specimen, it can be of variable length) point to Ophion sp.

Ophion!
Thank you Rachel.

Thanks so much! What a weird creature it still seems to me, even though by now I've seen quite a few weirder!

Thanks again!

Ophion?

Well, it is definitely...
.. the subfamily Ophioninae, but I can't tell the exact genus.

ichneumon
Thanks for looking at this so fast! I seem to be attracting lots of these parasites lately. Thanks again, Martha
