Water Beetle - Tropisternus

Water Beetle - Tropisternus
Near Ruraldale, Upshur County, West Virginia, USA
April 22, 2007
I saw this beetle fly to a clump of mossy water plant, and burrow its way down. When I captured it it squeaked in protest. I photographed it in a dish and released it.

I am thinking Hydrophilidae, and perhaps genus Tropisternus since a couple of my books say Tropisternus has a keel underneath, which mine seems to have. ID comments appreciated.

I think you are right
The genus Tropisternus look good to me.
