Proserpinus lucidus
Pinnacles National Park, San Benito or Monterey County, California, USA
April 19, 2015
Size: approx 2.25"
Found on ground so no idea of host plant. Habitat was gray pine forest. Plants in vicinity included Violas, Clarkias, Collinsias.

Proserpinus lucidus
I'm pretty sure this is Proserpinus lucidus. Both P. lucidus and P. clarkiae occur at Pinnacles, but this one's pattern looks like lucidus to me.
