Rhamphomyia? - Rhamphomyia

Rhamphomyia? - Rhamphomyia
North Bethesda, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA
April 21, 2015
I think this empidid is in the genus Rhamphomyia based on its wing shape and venation as shown in vol. 1 of MND (1) and the diagrams on drawwing.org. I wasn’t able to follow the key in MND completely because these photos don’t show whether or not the laterotergite is bare (couplet 37). However, assuming that it’s bare and trying to move forward in the key appears to lead to genera that are either out of range or have the wrong venation pattern.
I’d be appreciative of confirmation or correction of this ID. Thanks in advance
