Lateral?
An exactly lateral shot, not oblique, is often required to identify these. For example, if I assume it is in the vicinity of Exorista (based on previous suggestion) the key to genera requires seeing the row of bristles along the side of the face.

Phorocera comstocki ???
Paul Arnaud lists only 2 species of tachinids on Megathymus yuccae. The main one is "Phorocera" comstocki Williston and the other was an unidentified Lespesia. Doesn't look like Lespesia, but I haven't seen them all. I have not seen P. comstocki so it would need to be keyed out. But maybe someone on BugGuide might have seen this one?
