Hemileuca sp ??? - Dysschema howardi
Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, New Mexico, USA
April 16, 2015
Size: 10 cm approx.
In the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Park, in the Dripping Springs area where the vegetation is diverse. It was on a dead plant stem, perhaps with the intension of pupating. The closest living plant was a thistle, but oaks and many other plants were nearby.
