Wow, this is one that I'd rea
Wow, this is one that I'd really like to see under a microscope. There are not many species known from eastern Oklahoma, especially that early in the spring. Both Panorpa speciosa and Panorpa anomala have two submarginal spots, but this has one. The basal band here is entire, not interrupted as is typical of Panorpa speciosa or P. anomala. It has never been recorded that far northwest, but this might either be Panorpa venosa or an undescribed species. You might contact me at Mecoptera@live.com
