Probably subfamily Orthocladiinae
The abdomen color pattern is similar to Cricotopus and the front legs are consistent with subfamily Orthocladiinae. What I can make out of the wing veins is consistent.

I'm satisfied with the ID as Cricotopus for now. I might be able to get a species later. I think these belong to a hard-to-distinguish species group.

Midges.
Interesting. I just collected some Perdita bees (tiny things) that strongly resemble the yellow midge in this image. Coincidence? or mimicry?
