Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
April 22, 2015
Size: 1.2"
I already have 2 Tipula dorsimacula on bugguide, and one Tipula ยป subgenus Pterelachisus (Tipula subgenus Pterelachisus). I'm guessing this is a Tipula dorsimacula - however it's the earliest I've seen one here. The data map doesn't show April for Saskatchewan. Have photo, photo with ruler, and photo from side. Regarding SIDE photo: I've lightened it for detail. Also: now that I'm looking at it, there looks to be a cream-coloured mass under it. Egg(s)? Uploaded onto bugguide April 28th and today it's still here on the side of the house, about 8' from its original location on April 22nd.
