These were at a neighbor's tree. It was a Silver Maple with limestone gravel surrounding the base. The bees seemed to be attracted to the limestone as they were to our Anemone. Then they would fly up along the tree. They would usually land for about ten seconds and then continue up the tree and out of sight. Don't know where they came from or where they went??? Frass as appropriate - will keep trying to get better shots.
