Found in a backyard garden in the middle of the city.

If you mean nearby in the sense of a mile or two, then yes. If you mean within sight, then no. However, it was a very windy day and the first sight of this guy was when it fell from the sky into the backyard, so it easily could have been blown in.

Good call!
I collected a few of these in Tucson last year. First report from here, but I'm sure it won't be the last! Eucalyptus pests are quickly catching up with the spread of the ornamental trees....
