Size: ~12mm
two days and over twenty miles of hiking, and this soldier fly would not let me get a good picture of it... Cephalochrysa was the closest thing i could find on the site.

If this is Senopterina the relatively unmarked wings and black palps should make it S. foxleei.

i can not say i am certain, but i do not know of conopids with those spikes on the scutellum... i think i have a picture of the wings, i will check that out.

I think Zodion in the Conopidae have scutellar spines. But the antenna look wrong.
