Lafontaine & Schmidt (2010) listed two species of the genus
Loscopia in America north of Mexico.
(1)Identification
forewing yellowish-brown to reddish-brown with variable dark brown shading, especially in median and subterminal areas; lines double, inconspicuous; orbicular and reniform spot outlines thin, at least partially whitish; inner end of reniform spot filled with dark gray or black
hindwing grayish-brown with faint darker brown median line

Range
Newfoundland to Saskatchewan, plus mostly northeastern United States, south in the Appalachians to Georgia.
Season
The main flight period is April to October.
(2)Food
The larvae feed on various grasses.
