Enicospilus americanus - Enicospilus - male

Enicospilus americanus - Enicospilus - Male
Michigan, USA
April 1, 2007
Size: 1.5+ inches
This came from a polyphemus cocoon reared in Michigan. It is not where I live, but asked to have it sent to me for rearing and/or specimen. The E. americanus is found in the northern states and due to its size and the size of the Saturniid moths (wild silk moths) the caterpillars are often hosts for this wasp's offspring.

E. americanus
I also agree this is probably E. americanus. I'd have to double check with a close shot of the discocubital cell, but based on host info and wing patterning I would agree.
