Abia lonicerae (L.)
The only Abia found in this area and quite common in April. Larvae do feed on Lonicera.

Dave. Is this a native species?

An introduced species
From Europe. First found in NY, I believe, and the first records I have for MD and VA are around 1965. Its spread quite a bit east and south since.

Still
Would make sense considering this same woodland area contains abundant Lonicera japonica.
