The common name is so obvious -- I don't know why I was having trouble identifying it:(

I'm not familiar with your area, but this looks like a White-striped Black Moth (Trichodezia albovittata). See

Yes, it does look like the white-stripped black moth. The white on the wing tips is more pronounced on mine, and mine is slightly larger, but maybe that is all within the normal range of variation.
