In backdune habitat, perched here on a freckled red fruit pod of Astragalus nuttallii var. nuttallii.

Another salticid was photographed nearby...it looks different to me (e.g. instead of of a rectangular rufous area with two oblique white stripes on the dorsum of cephalothorax, it has a straight white line across anterior of dorsum of cephalothorax):
