Clastoptera? on Eriophyllum - Clastoptera

Clastoptera? on Eriophyllum - Clastoptera
Tejon Ranch, California, USA
May 8, 2015
Size: about 4mm
This bug was hiding in one of my Eriophyllum pics. So thus it isn't great, but at least it shows the face! Mohave desert, dry grassland environment. The most common shrub here was rabbit brush (Ericameria nauseosa).

Family Clastopteridae is mainly tropical and subtropical. It would be helpful to know where in CA this specimen was collected. Clastopteridae is a type of "spittlebug," and is sister-group to the froghoppers (also called spittlebugs) - Cercopidae.
Your specimen resembles this one:

Thanks Joseph
I do like both Clastop and Cercops. They are such awesome bugs. Never too hard to find either, but never seen one in desert before.

I guess I rushed the submission uploading but the details are there now--same as my previous submissions in the area.

On Dr Hamilton's comments elsewhere
it looks good for delicata.
