Carabus serratus? - Carabus goryi

Carabus serratus? - Carabus goryi
Monterey/Appalachian Trail, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, USA
May 15, 2015
Had to crop it this close to get it to upload.

Moved
Moved from Ground Beetles.

It looks more like C. goryi, to me
C. serratus has a different texture to the elytra, more interrupted/ rough looking intervals, and of course the obvious serrations on the humeri.

You don't need to overcrop
if you don't want to. Your image manipulation software should allow you to change size without cropping. In Photoshop click on Image and then on Size and pick whatever size you want.
