Which mayfly? 1 - Callibaetis ferrugineus - Male
Jim Thorpe, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, USA
April 30, 2007
Size: 1/2 inch approx

Moved
Moved from Callibaetis.

Callibaetis
I believe this is a male C. ferrugineus ferrugineus imago. It is fairly typical of the darker morphs of this highly variable species. Although the dark markings along the leading edge of the forewings are also variable (or absent in some ferrugineus males), C. fluctuans males do not have such extensive and irregular markings.

Callibaetis
Jo-

That is a Callibaetis male imago, likely C. fluctuans.
